UPDATE: VOTING NOW CLOSED.
…so this post turns into an official results list for those that care about the numbers. For an easier-to-digest look at the results, follow this link.
With all the web-exclusive Stig videos and supercar blogs littered across TopGear.com this week, it can’t have escaped your notice that we’ve been thinking hard about on the fastest cars of the year. Top Gear magazine’s been at it too – and you can read even more about Stig’s showdown in the September issue.
But one thing we haven’t done is choose a winner. And we won’t. Why? Because we set out to celebrate the best performance cars of 2009 and, be honest, can you really compare a Murcielago SV with a Renault Clio? Exactly.
Let’s forget that for a moment, though. When we pushed the TG office for a favourite, we still found one – not based on maths or science, just a feeling. A feeling based on one criteria – that you’d have to drive it every day for a year.
And that’s what we want you to do here. So pick your favourite, vote with your hearts and we’ll tell you once we’ve closed the poll which one we’d want to live with if push did come to a shove. Oh, and don’t worry that you haven’t watched videos or read about them all yet, we’ll be rolling out details of the rest of the cars all this week – and, of course, you can always pop to the newsagent for a copy of the mag.

Who couldn’t resist a 599!
Difficult decision between the Aston and Lambo but I just had to go for the Murchielago as it is the last one.
What wud u guys pick tho. i mean u hav to tell us! x
HOW CAN YOU NOT CHOOSE THE STIRLING MOSS??? It’s amazing!!!!! But I must say, it only just pipped the Aston.
It has to be the R8 V10 or Aston Vantage V12 but i think the R8 is just a bit more special.
I would love to drive the Stirling Moss, but not every day. My vote go to the Aston.
what boy wouldnt pick da aston its unreal
It has to be the Aston, cos every1 wants to be Bond, James Bond!!!!!!
it was a difficult desicion although the Ford focus RS is a practical car that can be used everyday i vote the aston!!
but i have to admit that all the cars in the list are wonderful !!
Definitely el Aston
DEFINETLY THE LAMBO MURCIELAGO !!! ITS SOOO GORGEOUS !!:):):)
The Lambo SV!!!
Cuz i’m a sucker for Lambos like that…
But then again i don’t think its a car you can live with everyday.
So If i had to chose something to drive around everyday in I’ld probably chose the Aston. But i’ld still prefer the V8 roadster over the V12 vantage.
Also i think the V8 makes a truly epic sound which no other car can match.
Hence the Lambo still is a car i’ld be ready to sell body parts for.
So thats my pic.
Merc E63 AMG Estate: The most practical and comfortable super-car money can buy.
Honourable mentions can be made for the BMW M5 (not as comfy and the seats don’t fold flat) and the Audi RS6 (I don’t like the seating position).
However, since none of them are on the list, I’m unsure. The criteria: “…that you’d have to drive it every day for a year”… means a car that I am happy driving on the motorways and B-roads, but is comfortable enough to take to the shops, office and through London! And can the wife and kids come too?
It is pretty obvious that all the cars would happily drive around B-roads and across motorways with little complaint.
So this will be won or lost in the daily drive:
Any car without a boot (or one of negligible capacity), needs to fall off the list.
Any car that cannot clear a sleeping policeman or London pothole (without crippling the passengers) needs to fall off the list.
Any car that is difficult to park in a standard Sainsbury’s parking bay needs to fall off the list.
Any car without seating in the back that the kids can fit into, needs to fall off that list.
The only car that I see on the list that ticks the “…you’d have to drive it every day for a year” criteria is the Ford Focus RS; though you could have had the same reaction for a Golf GTi…
Who would choose anything else than the lotus evora, it is practical, has a sensible engine, nice mpg, confortable, fast and its good looking too, also since it has a toyota camry engine it shoudnt be so expencive to maintain.
WHY DON’T PEOPLE WANT THE SLR STIRLING MOSS???
because one day you’d see a 722 and think s**t, why didn’t I get one of these
just have to have the r8 with the benz a close second
The Focus RS as an everyday car, and the 911 GT3 for a weekend treat would be ideal
Comments show no one really interested in Aston Martin but the poll says Aston is gettin highest, top gear is really biased towards Aston!
The Lambo is HOT!
i admit i’ll still take the 599, not in yellow though.
being a total snob is just so hard to resist.
lambo of course its the best hear!!!
i am not saying at all that the aston martin is not a brilliant because it is and the R8 V10 is also brilliant but neither of them have that mental mark that gives a car its character. Im not saying the aston or audi are boring, in fact the Audi has a lot more character now that its so tail happy and the aston is also loud as hell but the lambo is a swan song and is truly special
Aston has my heart and that’s it, but it’s like choosing from a playboy magazine, everything in there is just brilliant.
LOL I see one person has voted for the Aston over, and over, and over again!
has to be that beauty of an audi!
If I was a 10 year old, Mclaren Mercedes SM steals me away. Now though I’d choose the Aston.
there all nice cars but wat car wud ya be able to afford in a reccession.. hmmmm id go for the RS its only 40 odd thousand euro
(So I clicked them both)
To No 28:
So about the same price as a beer then?
TO No 27 SORRY
This is the first time i have been so indecisive! Its given me a headache!
When Ive decided between the Aston, Lamborghini or the Ferrari i shall come back and vote!!!
tut tut tom
tut tut indeed
If I was going to get a Merc, it’d be a comfy one. A Ferrari would be vintage and/or rear engine. Aston V8 not V12. Nissan would have to be the GTR, KTM would have to have 2 wheels…
When it comes right down to it, there’s only one car on this list that wouldn’t be toppled by another model from the same make.
If I was going to get an Audi, it’d be the R8 V10… so that has to be my choice.
why do people bother choosing the focus RS. these are cars for a dream garage, one which the vast majority of people won’t be even close to owning. you might as well go all out and get the most ridiculous one there. aka the lambo
A clear cut decision for any man with taste and a raw passion for cars would choose the Aston Martin V12 Vantage. Mankind at its pinacle.
LP670-4 SV for sure….
there is no other car on this planet that truly takes your breath away, sure the 599 GTB HGTE is in every aspect the best all-round supercar there is today, the R8 V10 is a truly amazing piece of machinery and the Aston is just fantastic….
But at the end of the day noboby makes supercars like Lamborghini….and they certainly don’t come better than the Mighty Murcie’!!!!
Those Menacing looks, the Glorious noise of the big V12 in full swing and the ability to put a big smile on your face every time you get into that Lovely racing seat…VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!
Id have Catarina Murino instead.
Shes not on the list so the lambo would do.
Astons good but Ive trashed my DBS, remember?
The Focus RS is a car I could live with. So is the Aston, actually, but I prefer the V8. Don’t ask why.
Ford Focus RS all the way!, my dream car MK1 + MK2!
Infact I would choose the most expensive, sell it, then buy a FFRS and use the rest of the money for fuel and go on an almighty roadtrip! heaven!
I love the stirling moss slr, It’s like a shifter kart on steroids in a way, or at least in terms of looks
Vote for Aston Martin, even it’s hard to resist to Murcielago
But amongst the hot cars Focus stands on the top of them all. Well, GTI isn’t on the list in this case…
I voted for Mclaren Mercedes SM but also wanted to vote for the aston.
but SM is a royal car…
The Aston Martin. It’s just stunning in every way.
I voted for the Aston just now but I also voted earlier for the Lambo – but now i want to do the SLR too.
Can’t we vote more than once? The Aston is best for style, the Lambo is best for raw power, the Stirling Moss is best for exclusivity and the R8 V10 is best for everyday practicality. How about a car with the styling by Aston Martin, the practicality by Audi, Lamborghini providing the engine and the exclusivity of the McMerc?
But, on balance it just HAD to be the Aston because ever since I was 10 years old I’ve always wanted an Aston Martin and the Vantage V12 more than any other.
@comment 15
BECAUSE ITS THE UGLIEST SUPERCAR I’V SEEN!!!
The Aston, without a shadow of a doubt. The SLR is beyond the realms of realistic road use. And I’d never fit in the R8 or Lambo
I love the Murcielago .. it is trully the best supercar of them all.
I will have a McMerc SLR Stirling Moss for the money when I sail it
sorry wen I sale it not sail :d
Clio 200 Cup Rules
A STRIPPED OUT LAMBO IS THE ONLY CHOICE SO Y NOT THE MURC SV!AND ITS FASTER THAN MOST OF THE CARS APART FROM THE ONE WITH NO ROOF!
but mom….cant i have them all? ;’(
I picked the aston because of the vote from ur heart thing but it’s a tie between the SV. But the ferrari is special too I think Tg was just lucky to have all of them!
Aston Martin every time. I would never look out of my window at it and not want to drive it. Simple as.
Very Hard. I had to choose the Lambo SV simply because its an SV!but that Aston Martin Vantage V12 looked stunning
The Aston! Actually it’s a very small car, but it has great road presence. There is a black V8 in my area and it’s just breathtaking to see it passing by. What a beauty. I like the R8 as well, but its rear end seems a bit tall. The Aston is perfect. I like the Lambo as well, but just to look at. I would not want to be seen in it, too much of a pimp car.
the lotus is the best does 163 mph 0-60 in 5 seconds and its english
The Aston by far
To no 58. Sure the lotus is nice and i wouldn’t kick one out of bed, but those figures are pointless… The aston has 510bhp, does 190mph and 0-62 in 4.2 seconds.
And guess what….. It’s english.
The aston is a bueaty and is a tiny bit more luxory than the others, an the other weekend i had a ride in a vantage and its comfier than most of the other cars
Lotus Evora
Simply because driving the stirling moss or the aston will 1 be a bit hard due to racing suspension (I believe) and 2 have fairly poor mpg
Audi is too boring
Lambo not my thing
Nissan… Erm… Ugly? Slowish?
Ktm and 599 and GT3 are track weapons
And clio and focus are hatchbacks – which I don’t like all too much
and i can rissist a 599 for an f430scuderia or for the looks and more space the 612
who dosent like r8’s or lambos
U wouldn’t get people looking and pointing at your car if you had an RS or a ClioSport so i’d rather have the dredded G-Whizz or suzuki wagon r+
GT3
As fast as the Enzo, and looks like that. Easy.
Aston all the way baby!!!
SLR Stirling Moss… well, cause…. just look at it! I know, a helmet on everyday is’nt going to do much for practicality.
i wanted to vote for the mclaren, but unfortunately they made it so farhkin ugly, i couldn’t so my vote went for the lambo
Only the GT3.
the aston? top gear is always saying its the best car around blablablabla but it just isnt!! dont get me wrong astons are great looking things and i would love to own one but it is NOT the best car! none of those cars are to be picked.. but if i have to choose it will with no doubt be the 911 gt3.. although i must say the restyling they did on 997 is crap but its a 911, end of story
The brain says Aston, but the 12 year old inside says Lambo.
As an everyday car, i pick the focus… but for week-end, i’ll get all of them. (lambo’s my favorite)
I chose the SV just cos its so damn sexy.
)
But the Audi and Focus RS take my fancy also.
lambo sv bad interior
audi r8 cock
porsche 911 gt3 bad interior
focus rs bad shape
clio french
stirling moss not ugly but looks dodgy
v12 vantage stupid bonnet rather the dbs
ktm x-bow bad for everyday
nissan 370z love it but not fast enough
lotus evora love it but not fast enough
FERRARI 599 HGTE BIBLICALLY FAST GREAT FOR EVERYDAY BECAUSE OF INTERIOR
h
For an everyday car, I would choose a Ford Focus RS, and for weekend fun, I’d choose all of the supercars. (Especiallt the McMerc SLR Stirling Moss)!!
For sheer usefullness it’d have to be the Focus of course. But… well, it’s not exactly what you’d buy if they came to your door saying congrats, is it?
Daily driver was the issue here (McL, Lambo and 599 out). You wouldn’t want to negotiate speedbumps with most of them each and every day. Or try to park them.
So I went for the Evora. Looks good, drives well, is kind to the driver’s back and small enough to park. Royal blue metallic plz.
I wonder what TG chose.
599 the end
got 2 B the murcielago
i do mysum but you’re still an idiot, the slr moss is a stunning, unique and achingly beautiful car i’m stumped as to why just me and mysum want it
the lambo is the best car ever best sound and if you google white murcielago SV its the best of the best
I want an SLR Moss aswell…
for me it was either the lambo,Aston or Audi but for me it had to be the Aston.3 Words British,gorgeous,007
It must be the V12 Aston!
murcielago sv -aston
We’re talking about driving these cars every day as your main car. The Lambo would just drive you up the wall for impracticallity. Anyone who has even occasional use of 4 seats can’t pick the Aston, but I don’t mind not being the nominated driver!
The other big issue has to be (especially with the cars on this list) the places you go to. I don’t go anywhere that people would not think that the Aston was cool, it is almost classless in that respect. The Ford just screams chav (as do the Nissan and Renault), the Lambo suggests someone with more money than sense or class and the Ferrari suggests that I might secretly wish I was Silvio Berlusconi, which I do, but I don’t want everyone else to know that. The R8 is dead easy to park, but I don’t want girls to see me as the kind of guy who used to have an RS4, got lucky on the stock market and couldn’t think of anything better to do with his cash than buy a faster Audi, that just isn’t cool.
The Aston could actually be driven to Lidl in the morning to fill up on picnic food for Henley in the afternoon and it would work. In my view none of the others on this list could make that claim.
Clio pour moi
shame abouts the face though
i chose the lamboghini lp640 because it was cool
While I think the Stirling Moss is the best Mercedes ever, and they should be rewarded for going utterly insane with it – The best everyday car for me is the Lotus. The clio is too hard (Cup version: no AC – love the green paintjob though), the Ford is too orange – hot hatches also should be french or italian
, the Ferrari’s name is a bit too nerdish – and I don’t think the handling pack makes sense for a daily driver;
The Nissan is boring, and taking too many Porsche design cues, now they’ve even adapted Porsches way of restyling cars, R8 is also a tad boring – I’d go nuts for the TDI version though; the GT3 surely sounds like a brilliant car – but again a bit boring in the looks department and too hard for the road, X-Bow is useless anywhere but on the track.
And the big one: the Lambo. It’s gorgeous, brash, loud – the exhaust is pure steroids. A very close second (shared with the Stirling Moss), but I couldn’t leave either unattended anywhere but in a high security garage.
So Lotus it is. Small, sexy, quick enough and useful. Also I’m a bit of a Lotus fanboy
its a tough one whether to choose the aston, the lambo or audi as all of them are good in their own ways…but i think the lambo has something extra special about it…
Aston Martin! cause it is an Aston Martin! really ! why have these polls
see this is a pointless test … if i could have 1 car …any in the world … i wouldnt get a 370z or a focus RS over a vantage and ud have to be a complete arse to do such a thing.
but if i would have a 370z in a heart beat if i could aford one and not afford the vantage and i would love an RS forever if i could get my hands on one.
This poll is not about what car you would put in your dream garage. Top Gear asked you to pick a car that you could live with everyday. Therefore the Lambo, McMerc SM, the Clio 200 Cup, and the X-bow are all out of the picture. If you truly want the most practical car, you must buy the RS, but if you want some practicality, and a lot of performance, get the Aston, the Porshce GT3, the Lotus, the Ferrari, and the Audi. The Nissan has no more practicality than these cars, but much less performance. Therefore, we must make a compromise, and choose a car that is both practical and fast. In this situation the only legitimate, choice is the Audi R8 V10. Though it must be mentioned that the Ferrari 599 is somewhat close to the Audi in terms of practicality. The choice is your’s; just pleeease stop picking your favorite supercar over the cars that fit the criteria of the poll.
I want whichever I can sell for the largest amount of money.
couldn’t choose between aston and lambo
went for lambo
Picture yourself in as many different scenarios as you can where you might completely legitimately offer a girl a lift home. Think very carefully about which of these cars works best in most of those scenarios.
It absolutely has to be the Aston. With any of the others you have to explain why you own it. With the Porsche she will wonder why you didn’t get something more refined, with the Merc she’ll be expecting a C-Class right up until the point you press the keyfob and then she’ll wonder what the hell it is and why you are handing her a crash helmet and ruining her hair and as soon as you say Ferrari/Lambo she’ll be tightening her chastity belt and taknig a lift home with a guy in a Fiesta.
With the Aston she’ll be keen as mustard for a ride and be impressed when she gets in it… You could even end up with her phone number!
Who ever went for the lambo is what jeremy would call a cock, or what i call a bell end.
Aston is british, sexy and is way better in every way than the lambroghini. Every1 who likes lambroghini know absolutly nothing about cars and are only common and shouldn’t watch top gear.
Maybe thats why jeremy is selling his
I’m torn between the Evora, the Aston, The Fez and the R8 but I think for everyday useability, speed and looks it has to be the Audi. No wait-the Lotus. Or the Aston. Or maybe the 599? I don’t know
I got it! the Ferrari Cali! Oh yeah, right
I And the winner is… The Aston. Damn!
nissan 370z rocks!
aston for me
close between that and the lambo tho
my vote goes to the gt3 its an everyday supercar which give u the fun but it wont kill u
Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV ….
Had to forget my normal Lambo obsession, and think ‘drive every day for a year’.
Was torn between the GT3 and the Evora.
Went for the GT3, I reckon it would be that bit more fun than the Evora.
its got to be the aston… its like pornography on wheels
For me it was between the R8 V10, LP670-4 SV. If the R8 V12 actually is going to be made and was on the list instead of the V10, that’s what I would of gone for, but the engine in the Lambo, I would never get tired of listening to it.
Supercars are all well and good, but think about your typical supercar owner… Would you like to be one of those? Not me. I don’t care about hairstyle, I don’t want a boyfriend and I don’t like to be sussed out by Mans Best Friend with a badge. Again.
maybe the aston martin should mate with the ferrari… then that will b a great outcome
i voted for the focus rs due to the fact that it is pratical cheap very fast a beauty and it is so dramatic and a exhaust note that would kill if sound could kill but the audi would be second and aston third
No no no no, most of you are wrong!! How come the Ferrari hasn’t 100% of the votes…
No, I am not a tolerant person, and you, you and specially you (yes you, don’t give me that look) and you are WRONG!
i hate badge the way people prefer the golf gti over nd focus rs because of the badge the rs is faster nicer better to drive and gti is more expensive
RS ST GTI
PRICE 44500 37500 47500
TOP SPEED 163 150 148
0 TO 60 5.9 6.4 6.9
BHP 305 225 207
TORQUE 440NM 320NM 279NM
I could not chose but in the end the V12
*96* im sorry anonymous but what the hell are you talking about?? the poll is about which car you love and therefore would have even if it was difficult to use. The car you choose is not from your head but from your heart.
*114* no the ferrari is too ugly and is far too technical to be a true ferrari
I’d go for the Lotus Evora
i want all of them! reckon the aston would be best day to day, its just a beauty but my heart belongs to the r8…
as for mr number 97, WTF man! if u had one, u wouldnt want to sell it! that’s the point! clearly, not a true car fan… (mr number 96, i hear you man!)
The Ferrari every time.
I’m not a fan of Mclaren Mercedes but the SLR Sterling Moss is a great looking car.
Maybe some people have voted more than once?
Ford Focus RS is car for me because all others are supercars and costs lots of money. RS is the only one witch you can buy.
The cars people vote for say more about the people than the cars.
25% clearly didn’t understand the question. 51% are chavs and probably think that Kappa tracksuits are, “Da bomb,” and 24 % voted for the Aston.
SLR Stirling Moss,,, Just Unbelievable.
murcelago eyery time
I would go with the Lambo but only if it meets this condition. I get to drive to work through downtown Abu Dhabi on roads closed off to the piblic like Richard did.
i chose the aston cus its one of my favourite cars, if your wondering wat my favourite car is its the ford gt
LP-670 SV for personal track use. In white or that awesome shade of grey that you can get on the LP-640.
The SLR Stirling Moss for cruising through Knightsbridge showing off and kicking some rich ass in a race between the lights =)
But for everyday use I would pick the ford focus RS. It looks like it could beat the living daylights out of every single hatchback in production and its practical but still very very fun and fast!
the lambo sv because it sounds great and it looks fantastic, simply brilliant
i completley agree ryan the sv has to be described as the best car in the world
porsche 911 gt3 is the one for me also don’t mind the renaultsport 300 or something cup thanks for reading if ya do
my fav cars are bmw m3 bmw x6 all renaultsport cars and also the subaru impreza WRX STI
heres a good few battles!
GT3 vs aston dbs
R8 V10 vs gallardo lp560-4
599 hgte vs carrera gt
v12 vantage vs alfa 8c
ktm x-bow vs caterham r500
slr moss vs slr 722
murc sv vs f430 scuderia
370z vs tt rs
evora vs cayman
focus rs vs insignia vxr
clio 2oo cup vs golf gti
who wins?
u decide!
i spent 5 min choosin between the aston and the porsche but i chose the porsche cos i dont like the v12 vantage as much as a db9 so thats y i chose the porsche!
Only decent choice was the R8. Where are the best cars of the year – like the ZR1, the new Viper and the Nissan GTR?
I know, The Stig took them all to his secret cave…
i’d take evora, it looks like the best overall car
The amazing Focus RS for every-day use, and the LP 670-4 SV for special occasions
In my typical slightly non-conformist way, would have to be the Porsche 911 GT3… Something about being a purpose built sports car with a heritage as big as the war that (in a sort of sideways off way) spawned it’s coming to life. However… That Aston is bloody brilliant…. decisions decisions
the gentleman in me says the aston, the responsible person in me says the focus, but the need for something without a windscreen and no option for a catheram leaves me picking the mcmerc
LP670SV-4 THE BEST CAR THERE, PUT THE VEYRON ON IT
Suggesting you know when hamster took that what is the best bus for london or any other city why don’t yous have a chalenge that yous have to get a bus and do challenges like what yous did with the trucks.
Lambo,, any day… thats y i got it..
if i had to buy one it would be the lambo or the slr strling moss
I first saw the Stirling Moss in the pages of Top Gear Mag some months ago, and the lines simply blew me away. How could I NOT vote for it? If it weren’t for the Stirling, I’m pretty sure my vote would have gone to the Aston… Because its an Aston…
FOR THE LAST TIME SV SV SV SV!!!!!!!!!!
curuption ! english people vote here thats why the stupid v12 is leading! really it sucks! even the z370 is better!
Has to be the Aston v12 for me, just beautiful…
y wont anyone vote for the x-bow its crazy and fun just what a car coming from a motorbike company needs
Thats not even a question for me, I would take that Lamborghini Murcielago SV over all of them any and every day!!! Its its just an amazing car that has everything you could wish for from a supercar: its extremely fast, extremely exclusive, looks just ubelievably good, and sounds so crazy and loud. Its my favorite car!!!
SV rocks!
I wonder why Top Gear doesn’t ever find cars different than stock, they always go on about the fastest car, but they only do stock cars, they never put on modified, I live in the US and there are a lot more cars over here modified that are a ton faster than most of the high priced super cars. I’m wondering if they can put on some basic American modified older cars(because most of the newer ones are useless), and how well they pit against the European premier selection.
you can vote twice just vote go to google and come back and vote again
Porsche 911 GT3
obviously
For an everyday car – the Porsche takes it for me. Not that I would pass on any of them if they were free, as in this “make a wish and tell them which one you would drive daily”….the most frustrating thing about these incredible cars is that there is nowhere (or very few places in the States) to drive them like they were meant to be driven. So, I’ll hide, yet enjoy the ride, in the Porsche.
r8 v10 and lp670-4 sv , just awesome
Stirling moss is beautiful but so is the R8 V10 Why havent they made a V12 R8 . I HATE THE FOCUS RS OR ANY FOCUS AND THE MONDEO BUT MY FAVOURITE CAR IS ANY FIAT 500.
I AM TG’S BIGGEST FAN.I AM TG’S BIGGEST FAN. TG
TG
The Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV without a doubt
New winner- The Evora- For style, looks, handling, useability and a cool name.
GT3 for me!
aston martin all the way for me, nothing comes close to its performance and its drop dead looks
V10 R8, such a powerhouse under the bonnet of the audi build quality.
No contest.
Gorgous to look at too….
Corvette ZR1
With the new lamborghini coming out it is sure to win. Not just of its power and sound, but the way it would handle around a corner becausen of how light it is, probably have made the suspension better nad aslo the All Wheel Drive. It also looks really hottered up and aerodynamic. A dark horse that I’m really going to be feared of is the Porche gt3. With its recent win back in 2007 wheels magazine. It has also won other competions in performance and compared other cars with it. The other cars might have a chance because of the price tag or the Top Gear presenters might have suprise winner. For me its the murciealgo sv.
the difference between every car there, and the 599 gt-b hgte, is that, not only is the 599 a Ferrari, which means its from the best company who create the best sports cars in the world, its an upgraded Ferrari which, most importantly is done by Ferrari (not some German tuner company), who are the only ones who know how to improve their cars properly. if the Fezza wasn’t there, the vantage, ta.
KEF i agree with you where is the corvette ZR1???? that’d be the fastest car of the lot by a margin the size of the channel tunnel!! i adore the SV and the ZR1 sooo much i couldn’t choose between them. I just love their unique character and gorgeous sounds and the fact that their previous models were slight underdogs mechanically and performance wise but they both came back and obliterated the competition. whats a ferrari??
james , your right. it’s brilliant JC said so himself. the only reason it’s not here is that GM couldn’t loan TG one
Oh, C’mon!!!!! Anyone with the slightest amount of sense would easily go for the V10 Audi R10!!
hey KEF james and listos, i agree with all of you that the corvette zr1 should have been on this list. it has the same performance of the lambo SV (there is a video of it on youtube), and for relatively so little! it is a proper supercar with superior handling and a low price. last time i checked, tg loved cars based on how well they performed and for what price. cant beat the vette
the stg is miklpomacker
let’s be honest a car that you have to drive it every day of the year it can’t be a 2 seats car… i mean, if you want to go to a party with some friends you just drive one person with you… but even if you don’t go to a party, imagine that you have a big family like 5 person’s… =/… of course that a lambo is a good car but the drawback is that you can’t get more than 1 person with you… who said a lambo also said other’s supercar with just 2 seat’s… at my point of view, in that list the best car to drive all year is the focus… yes, i know what you’re thinking, but if you take a good look at the car, it isn’t that bad at all… i mean, it’s a fast car (a little bit), have 4 seat’s, is good looking and it’s a very economic car to drive all year (compared to those “drunk’s” like mercedes, corvette, audi)…
but this is only my opinion.. i don’t have anything against who would like to drive a lambor or a maclaren or the zr1 or other car… in some point we have to know when separate an every year car to a weekend car… and for me, the focus is the perfect car to drive all year, but the lp670-4 sv is my dream car…
p.s: hey top gear administration, when you test any out road car, may i suggest that you came to Madeira… it’s a island out of Portugal but with excellent dirt road.
its aston or laborgini really but an aston was involved to a rubbish end to the 13th series
In regards to the –The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ‘Stirling Moss’ edition–, I have never seen the car driven nor have ever driven it.
But I can say just by looking at it that it was made for one simple reason which is to get attention. It looks like a vehicle that is part of a science-fiction plot.
1 Part – Historic Heritage Looks
1 Part – Modern Design
It is kind of a ‘Hybrid’ of time.
But we are looking at a convertible-ish 50’s design. So we have to assume it will also drive like it is from the 50’s as that is what it emulates in design. If that is the case, we are to expect old fashioned powersliding with modern day power, which can make you wish you had TB instead of the death that awaits you within the car as you powerslide off a cliff.
If the car turns out to be good I will be shocked. But if it turns out to be bad, it was too obvious. It is just a gimmick in my eyes and a supposed collectors piece.
Personally I’d rather pay to meet the man or buy some rare artifact signed that was his than buy this because as it is priceless, if you drive it, what’s the point?
Cars are meant to be driven. This car is definitely not.
…(con’t from above post) by the way I just thought mention that if you like any car in this list that is a convertible without a windscreen, you more or less will not be able to hear the sound of the exhaust as because you would need a helmet…obviously.
Choices in my eyes are very, very grim but the most appropriate choice for any person, even someone with pockets that pour money would obviously be the Focus.
It can withstand the majority of problems;
Theft
Damage (Cheap to fix)
Power (Can be electronically maxed to a much higher top speed I hear)
Acoustics (in & out)
MPG/Range
The Focus seems like the best All-Rounder once you factor out the convertible issue.
…(last post I promise)
If anyone is like myself and enjoys a good sounding vehicle for extremely good value, what ended up selling me on the Ford Focus RS in this Poll was what I heard at Goodwood this year.
It is also on Wikipedia which is why I decided to choose it (copy and paste the link for yourself)
http://en.wikipedia.org/w iki/File:Ford_Focus_RS.og g
It has just a beautiful worthwhile sound, and is a real bodied car as opposed to the Renaultsport Clio for 10,000 less which has plastic windows.
the focus rs is a SAD PIECE OP WORK LIKE james may, while the ST is a proper car like jezza and hamster
my vote was the aston martin vantage. although the lamborghini murchi. is the last model to be made, id rather stay british
My vote was ferrari. All the other cars i love but the ferrari is special. To me…
The aston is just beautiful ands sounds amazing…and its British!
i just need a ford focus rs!!.. theres a ford dealer just down the road from me.. hes got one white one and one green one, who cares about all the other supercar erotica when you can have an every day hatch that does everything..! the slr moss is a bit pointless!.. 599 is amaziingg.. but u wud shit urself if u took it into town.. aston v12 is nice!.. but the dbs is a better looker and the v8 engine has got one of the best sounds ive ever heard.. porsche is nice.. but slightly track carish.. ktm.. nice car for a sunday blast.. and lotus just seems slightly underpowered.. and sluggish.. they need a high powered version..!!
I CAN’T CHOOSE!!!
I WANT THEM ALL!!!
im stuck between the FERRARI and the vantage .but i goin with the brittish!!! ASTON MARTIN ALL THE WAY !!!!!! . ITS LIKE A SPAG BOWL VS A FULL ENGLISH WITH NO MUSHROOMS AND EXTRA BEANS!!!!!!!. BY 11YRS OLD LIAM
i love the vantage. its fast looks good and its british. which is good.
Lambo, for the shear idiocy of the thing!
599 or the aston. i think the aston as its so james bond and the 599 is a bit to electronical.
i love fishsticks.
599 599 599 599 599 599 599 599 599 599, or maybe gt3
I’d go for the Lambo. It does what it says on the tin ” get too cocky and I’ll wrap you round a tree” SLR to clever and specialized, the 599 far too clever and to be honest, ugly and the porsche, well…nuff said on that, eh?
It has to be the Lambo!!
Audi R8 V10 – could drive it everyday, lambo and ferrari are nice but unless you can afford a second car for everyday driving, audi is the one!
i own a gold gti and after driving the Focus RS it is truely amazing i love it
RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS RS
Ferrari is the best supercar ever!…,and maybe the merc, it is very cute.
the RS
X-Bow.
I think the x-bow shold because looks funny
Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV!
What is there not to like about a ridiculously fast, expense, bright orange super car with a huge rear wing? Its crazy and its awesome!
porshe GT3. cause its the best at being stupid. every one knows you don’t put the engine right at the back, its stupid it doesn’t work but the cravy germans said ‘yes it vill vork!!’ and did it and made it work and now its one of the best super cars in the world.
I love the Evora because it’s as good to drive as the Aston or the Ferrari but it doesn’t make you look like a small-penised hedge fund manager with a James Bond complex
The Lambo, full stop
Last June walking through Rome the sound of a Lambo (e.g. on the Via Veneto) just made me happy. No Ferrari 430, Porsche or other car did that to me.
In orange please.
Porsche 911 GT3 all the way – pure hardcore mechanical car – genius – so much better than the boring electrical computer cars like the audi r8
The Aston Martin guys just keep on making better and better cars. Ok, the bonet on the v12 vantage does look a bit crap, but still, it is an awsome car. It has soul, beauty and a way of making you say ” wow, you sexy car ” every time you see one. That is why I love aston martins and i will never want to own another car. Astons are in a league of their own.
Definitely the Vantage V12, not because it’s perfect or the fastest or the most groundbreaking, but because it’s bloody awesome and represents everything a supercar should be.
I picked the Aston but it was a hard choice! I wanted to pick the SLR SM but reading the september mag made me choose otherwise… difficult!
Aston- NOISE, NOISE, NOISE- YEY!
I voted for the focus rs,as jezza said the most amount of fun at the least amount of money 26,395.00 GBP
=
29,945.84 EUR 305hp in a front wheel drive car(although front wheel drive is for the feeble, that car needs serious driving skills). Also its a focus britain’s best-selling car.
The r8 looks good on camera. But even better in real life.
The Lambo LP670-4 is so good it makes Luca di Montezemolo wake up in the middle of the night with a cold sweat followed by a cry of: Mamma Mia!
I chose the Evora since, as a clown, I need a somewhat practical car for my clown shoes and red nose accesories. And the vivid green clio reminds me too much of the clown car I have to use at work.
Audi R8 what else nice German engineering. Not too flashy (attention whoring or compensating anything). All the other cars are nice too but you just can’t beat the German ortnung.
Oh and BTW I’m not German.
Mc Merc – very nice but too flashy
Fezza – too robotic
Aston – as Homer Simpson would put it: “speed holes” in the bonnet
Clio – too French
370z – looks like a male hairdresser/pimp/drug dealer’s car
Evora – too uninteriored
Murcielago SV – I’d be worried about kids swinging from that gargantuum rear wing
KTM – not an Atom 500
R8 V10 – too flawless
911 GT3 – too rear enginey
Focus RS – three words…tesco value vodka
but, on balance, I think I’m gonna have to go with the Aston, even despite it’s awkward new nostrils. It’s a bit like Michael Jackson [before he died]. It has a few flaws, and it doesn’t look quite as good as it used too, but man, it can sing.
My God…
You have clearly lost your minds
My vote goes to each and every car in that list except the aston
Because it’s rubbish
there is clearly no problems with the r8 but the other cars do.i think the r8 is best because well…… JUST LOOK AT IT ITS A MONSTER.
The Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV is the best because it’s the last of the Murciélago’s and it look’s fantastic and goes like stink.
The Stirling Moss is a Merc and will break down
The Ferrari is tempting but ugly
The Aston is going to be bought by people who sell loans to people who will sell nerve gas to Bosnian – Serbs. So its good but my preference is the Lambo because it’s cheaper, I think.
The Renault-sport is … French (Need I say more?)
The Nissan 370Z is rubbish in the corners, (I know I’ve driven one!)
The Lotus is a bit too slow for me personally and if you owned a Lamborghini, you would be able too afford one of these anyway,
The X Bow is a copy of the Ariel Atom which is a brilliant car,
The Audi is Amazing but too Sophisticated
The Porsche GT3 is German and trying too hard.
The Ford Focus is Ugly, and only fat lonely chavs will buy it because they think it will make them cool.
The Lamborghini is therefore the only car too have for yourself. You can also have a Lamborghini Estoque for our family to go fast as well.
the porsche 911 gt3 rs has completely nothing its boring its a volkswagon beetle.
1st all the way since audi have made the r8
Everybody loves the Aston….thats it. It may not be the best car here, but it’s certainly the most loveble :0
Well its British, it goes really quick, it has a V12 engine so yes it does go quite quick and it would still be cool if ugly people drove it because people would be distracted by the car and wouldn’t take their eyes of it so it wouldn’t matter if you were ugly. Also it makes a really nice noise, its just one of those cars that you can just take a Sunday drive in and take it to track days and still use as a road car. Its brilliant!!!!!
The Aston Martin V21 Vantage is the car i would pick. Its brilliant!!!!!
yer they are both the same comments but the first one i forgot to put the name in
The Aston Martin is the best sports car – all the kefalonians have one….
The Focus RS would sneak out of the garage to go shoplifting at night so I’d probably have the Renault just ‘coz it’s so handy!
My current shortlist is:
Focus RS
AMV12
LP670-4 SV
GT3 3.8
Clio 200 Cup
The Clio is less chavvy than the Ford Super ASBO, cheaper too, but I can’t escape the fact that there’s 300bhp on tap that’s fully useable in the RS, and only 2/3 of that in the RS. Er, the green one, I mean. Both are capable of showing up supercars in the countryside, the Focus is almost a muscle-car-hatchback, which must be a riot.
But if it’s immaturaty I want, then the Lambo wins hands down. The great thing about it is that, for all it’s fire-spitting power and picnic-table rear spoilery, again, you can actually use it (apart from the width and rearward visibility, that is.) The looks-and-sound war is closely fought between this and the V12 Vantage, both completely different, both equally jaw-dropping. The Aston evokes PG18-style groans at the mere sight of it, and Aston Martin builds arguably the best-sounding engine in the world. Alas, so does Lamborghini. But whilst the Aston purrs, the Murci screams, bellows and howls at the sky, and I can’t help but think there’s more atmosphere in the Italian because of it’s outward madness.
The GT3 3.8 would be the ideal weekend car. Drive it to the track (whichever you live nearest to), then drive a proper track car properly fast, listening to the unmistakeable Porsche engine note, at it’s best in the GT3, blow away Superleggeras and Caterhams (maybe?), and then drive home again, £5k ceramic brakes intact and suddenly seeming like money well spent (steel brakes would be all but shot after a long day at the track).
It depends what one would use it for, and where one lives. If you’re in the countryside, the Clio or Focus make the most sense. If you want to blitz a track, the Porsche is the most confident one. If you live near a series of tunnels, the Aston is a must.
But the Lamborghini Murcielago is an all-time great supercar, a future classic without question, and the 670PS SuperVeloce is the maddest, baddest, fastest one. It actually took me ages to find a picture of one WITHOUT the enormous Aeropack wing (the standard rear spoiler is nothing more than an estate agent’s coiff, and looks comparatively rubbish), and that’s right, that’s Lamborghini. Mad, mind-blowing to behold, listen to and even sit in, completely inappropriate, and all the more loveable for it, a triumph of heart over head. And, from what I’ve read, now it even drives very well. I must have one. How much is this house worth…?
Its big no wait its small, hang on why put a BIG engine in a SMALL car.
Little Aston big engine, looks to kill and an awesome British V12 bellow.
Why pick any other car???
Oh yeah, my only gripe is that no-one can pronounce ‘Murciélago’ properly. Everyone just says MERchee-el-AH-go, when it’s more like MORE-see-EH-lago.
It’s not exactly a name they made up, either:
Murciélago (meaning bat in Spanish) was a famous bull from Joaquin del Val di Navarra’s farm, partly responsible for the fame of the ‘Miura’ breeders.
You could’t drive the Lambo, Ferrari or SLR Stirling Moss without looking like a Merchant Banker who sold his sub-prime loans (for people buying Focus RS’s and 370z’s) before the market collapsed to a cockney boy who’s done well.
But he’s now reduced to driving a Clio Renaultsport.
That leaves the Aston as the only everyday contender. An altogether classier proposition, thats genuinely pretty.
the designer of the sterling moss should be shot, its a horrid car, thats a no brainer, im infavour of any italian car winning
I have a sneeky suspicion that Aston drivers are of a similar ilk to that of Jag drivers in the way Jezza was explaining it the other day. The Aston and their owners hold themselves which such charisma, and yet you know for a fact they are real playboys who can get away with anything they like, because they own an Aston! Moreover, if all those cars where lined up, being completely serious, I believe the Vantage V12 to be the prettiest car of the lot. It combines true Aston beauty, with what can only be described as real, hardcore savagery, and that is one hell of a combo – and you finally consider what’s under the bonnet – as a consequence of the new heart of the Vantage, it is now the fastest production Aston ever….bring it on! I’d have one and it wouldn’t be for a year, it’d be for life…its a classic and its only just been born.
Drag race? :Stirling Moss (the car)/
LP670-4SV
Track? :599 HGTE/911GT3/X-Bow
Next Bond Film? :V12 Vantage
Next Iron Man Film? :R8 V10
Have family? :Focus RS/Evora
Can’t afford GTR? :370Z
Poor/suck at parking? :Clio 200 Cup
What did I choose? :R8 V10
Why did I choose it? :Love those rims!
how could you not choose the lambo. its the last murcielago to be made and just the way it corners like a fly… or should that be a bat =P
If Lamborghini Murcielago LP-670-4 SV’s Were Edible, I Would Be The Worlds Fattest Boy!!
personally i would pick the aston..but knowing you guys at TG i have a sneaking suspicion that you guys chose the little Renault..but who cares..the aston is the best..’coz the others[ferrari & lambo] would just kill you..and can you imagine popping over to tesco in an X-bow???that would be something now wouldn’t it?
I’m a cock so I want the Audi.
i voted the R8 because it is lush and so so cool! whoo audi R8.
Choose one to drive for a year.Hmmmm….
I must choose the R8 V10 because it is comfortable, is fast enough,is gorgeous,is beautiful,is practical(quite)and is quite cheap for its category. The end.
aston marton rules! who aggrees with me!?
I voted for the SV before.
But now i voted for the Clio Cup cuz its just so much fun at such an affordable price!
Where are the porsche fans?????
I had a difficult choice because I have ordered a Lambo SV and the Merc SLR but I have tested the Merc and it is absolutly brilliant!
The aston or lambo. they look much better than ferraris nowadays. yeah the 458 looks stunning but the ferraris coming out the factory are hardly the best looking are they?
for my money its the aston, these cars all cost mega money for what they are, i would gladly forgoe my house, food and girlfriend for the aston. what other manufacturer can claim that impact???? alfa 8c anyone?
what do i drive? 55 mazda rx8, traded for girlfriend free time and food!
welll i was going to vote for the aston but then i remembered someone i hate loves the vantage so i voted for the r8
lambo sv all the way
:D:D:D:D lol 1% for the ktw x-bow haha
i voted for lamba bcz its 4 wheel drive,i love its sound and its rare and cool!
Oops! i voted again!
i luv hard editions so it was between ferrari and porche but i went for the ferrari becaus its cooler
i choose the 599 becoz its the fastest of the available cars that i can drive.
… in Gran Turismo 5 prologue. (^_^)
The Focus RS because i have an ASBO!! lol
Hey guys if your strugelling with this ill give ya a clue: Aston
The aston V12 would make any man or beast cry with joy. The rest just try too hard and are in your face violent or middle of the road…i.e. the R8 V10 and couldn’t they of called it the R10 or is that a le mans thing!
Clio cup cause its the only one i can afford!
I picked the R8 V10. Who doesn’t like a car you can use in real life, but with a HUGE engine at the back? POWWWEEEEERRRRRRR
Why is the aston winning? The bulges in the bonnet look ugly. I would never vote for that car
Why ain’t the mondeo up there? huh?
Who would drive around in a KTM X-bow for a year in the UK. It has no roof and the Uk is kinda known for it’s rain!!!
v12 vantage 4sure, i mean, who cannot resist the awesome lure of this beast!!! u have to vote for it when it looks this good.
The R8 would be nice and could be the reccession buster of the lot, (that is if you chuck the clio and the focus, they don’t belong with the Big boys)
BOO!
Sorry for the fright and that the clio is too sporty and it would be rubbish and annoying for everyday use
i picked the lambo, but i had to think long and hard about it, because i do also love the stirling moss. and whats more, they are both last versions of 2 of the greatest cars ever made.
I just had to choose the Lambo because it was in orange and fast! I was going to choose to porche but Richard would have told me go for the Lambo!
the SLR must be pretty bad if we don’t get to read a review
r8 our aston its so hard 2 decied but probly the aston….its just special
Aston Martin forever!!!
I took nearly 24 hours trying to decide between the Clio cup, and the Porsche GT3.
I need a 12 step program !!!
The Lambo is the only hypercar here and that is why i chose it, it is easily the coolest, best looking and probably the fastest car in the TG convoy, and £275,000 for a car like that is the bargain of the century. Long live the fastest, baddest, coolest lambo ever.
No question it’s an Aston V12, and anyone that picks an Audi R8 V10 over this clearly hasn’t driven one!!!
I think the 599 HGTE is the prettiest Ferrari since the 288 GTO. It’s not perfect, but the front is a wonderful blend of classic eggcrate Ferrari allied to modern lights while the proportions are lithe and feline with a wonderful play on the flying buttresses.
Has to be the Aston Martin V12 Vantage, true super car in putting a big engine in a small stylish car and yet still useable everyday……and no cheap Audi A4 plastics in sight…..unlike some other so called super cars
The Lamborghini. That’s quite obvious. No other car here an replicate the extreme power, grip, and driving ability, with the mixture of fun, madness and sheer wow factor.
Sure, A Porsche makes more sense for absolute driving performance, and the Focus RS is THE best all rounder, but why would you want that ?
Remember when you were five, and you ran around, pretending you were a car ? You always had he biggest wheels, the brighest colours, and the biggest spoiler. You were the fastest and the scariest. You were a Lamborghini before you could even spell cat.
With my burbury cap on… the focus.
with my boring Germanic cap on… the R8 V10
With my patriotic cap on… the vantage V12
With my elasticated trousers on… none of them reallyoverall it’s gotta be the fezza!
With my burbury cap on… the focus.
with my boring Germanic cap on… the R8 V10
With my patriotic cap on… the vantage V12
With my elasticated trousers on… none of them really, overall it’s gotta be the fezza!
hmmm it’s a tough one but for me it would be the Aston purely because the first time i saw this car there was an explosion in my pants.
This is a car so good looking it gives me a hard on just thinking about it but it doesn’t stay up for long as the reality kicks in and i know i will never be able to afford one.
i just had to pick the lambo..v12 vantage a close 2nd but if i were to see them on the street, i would be much more stunned by the lambo
I had to pick the aston after that emotional to[ gear film!
Sure the lambo is impractical to use everyday for a year but if it’s been given to you for free why would you choose anything else?
Tough choice between the Aston and the Lambo, but in the end the Aston had to get it because who can resist having just a little in common with James Bond?!
It has to be the Murc LP670-4 SV. No other car can get away with the combinations it does. Huge engine/Huge power coupled with Epic Styling and Over the top Theatrics. The kid in me looks at the Murc and just goes absolutely daft, it is how cars have looked and sounded in our heads for years and now it is real, a truly fitting swansong for a truly amazing car.
V12 Vantage is the only winner, what else? Laudighini? Nah! R8 V10, yawn! Ferrari 599? Nah, worst craftmanship I have ever seen on a super car. The rest are just fluff.
lamborghini rule
Ferrari 599! I would have chose the Alfa 8c though.
its an aston wat else could u pick
Aston V12 all the way! As other’s have said, the affiliation with James Bond is too cool to miss… or you could get a Porsche or Lambo like that scrawny Manc git Jamiroquai!
Aston Martin V12 Vantage top of the pack. pure excellence no other car comes close. Its pure british class car its a super car that you can drive evryday
the lambo looks scary. realllllllllllllllllly scary
))))))))))))))))))))))))) ))))))))
you can not beat an Aston !!!!!!!!!
the Aston is v12 heaven
On this level of Supercars the requirements for greatness begin to go so high that they almost leave the atmosphere. What’s necessary then is a supercar that has that little extra, that X factor. All of these cars are undoubtedly phenomenal to drive, so then what makes one better? Like Sir Clarkson has said so well before; Theatre! The orange Lambo, like the rabid bull that knows it’s going to be put down, the Murcielago flares it’s nostrils and goes on an adrenaline-fueled rampage, bucking and kicking everywhere with reckless abandon.Like the Samurai who charges into certain death against modern weapons, the Murcielago charges blindly roaring against newer lighter desgins. In other words, theatre.
I have to pick the Murcielago SV LP-’whatever it is’. It’s just everything you want in a supercar… It’s ridiculously expensive, fast, noisy, has a huge wing on the back and is painted ORANGE!! Only a car as super-crazy as the Lambo could get away with something like that!! This things frikkin’ wild! It’s the sort of car that would come in your house, throw the dog out the top storey window, rape your mother and lick the windows before leaving with all your toilet paper… – it’s INSANE!!!!
Best of British – The Baby Aston with the not so baby engine. The British GT3RS beater we have all been waiting for. GTFI.
It obviously had to go to the Clio because the Clio really shows that the hot hatch still lives. It over the Focus RS because, be honest now, the RS is ridiculous looking.
i say the focus rs and i know it’s an asbo’s car but it’s so gorgeous to look at and it goes like a nuclear bomb
Clio because it’s less in your face than teh rest and ould probably give the rset of the choices a run for their money on some B-roads…where it’s meant to live
I voted for the Lambo because it’s a mean-looking son of a gun…
It may be shouty, it may be overstated but it’s the only car here that still does what a supercar sould. It shows you the difference between a fast car, and a MURCIELAGO.
y wasnt the Robin on there
oo i said the Porsche 911 GT3… wat a motor
wow… that was a hard choice! I couldn’t decide between the aston, the Lambo or the audi.
Their all wonderful!
Do the Murcielagos catch fire as much as the Gallardos?
How can you pick anything other than the Lambo? It’s the last Murcielago being released and it is definately the bedroom wall of a 10 year old car. Because when I was about 10, that’s when I saw the first Murcielago at the New York International Auto Show and I bought a mini replica on the spot. Still sits in my dorm room today. The Lambo is just a symphony of evil. The styling was definately taken from the bat-mobile, I mean just look at all those new sharp edges and accents of ridiculousness. Hammond likes the Zonda because it’s faster around the TG track than the Murcielago… but for a 10 year old boy, the speed is not particularly important. A 10 year old boy doesn’t know what carbon fiber is, or even what the liters in an engine mean. A 10 year old boy cares about the douchebag factor and the ridiculousness of a car. And nothing is more ridiculous than vertically opening doors, Nothing more douchebaggy than stopping at a light with a Toyota Prius and revving the shit out of your engine. Finally there is nothing better than actually having the capability of absolutely vanquishing most supercars in speed.
OK so there are some stunning cars to choose from.
Any red-blooded motoring enthusiast would be as happy as Larry with any of them.
But we should choose from the heart, and look for every-day usability.
The choice needs to reflect a blend of style, performance, passion, heritage, aural ecstasy, and pure head-turning jaw-dropping elitism.
The choice simply has to be the Ferrari.
V12 Vantage all the way
