Do yourself a favour, and find five minutes in your day to sit down and watch this tribute to rallying that some guy on YouTube has cut together. It’s really rather good:
There’s some great footage in there, which has all been edited together in a very pro way.
You can also check out the other videos this guy has done, simply by clicking this blue writing.

WOW!!!
Didnt realise saloon cars racing through the countryside was quite as theatrical as that. Passion, drama, expectation, failure and success all in 5 minutes.
Great piece
Damn, truly great video. Well worth watching
Aye not too bad at all , the individual clips could have been a wee bit longer (makes it a little choppy)
Also there are a LOT of shot of guys heads …
Having said that ..the guys has talent and i watched the vid all the way thru
Nice work
There is a real world out beyond the Eco buses, recycled rubber tyre bikes, M ‘bloody’ BT shoes and radar evading windmills. Get out and inhale the petrol fumes, wipe the grit from your eyes and LIVE………..
Very professional and poignant, not your usual shaky youtube job but I would have loved to have heard the engine noises. And Jamie are you colour blind, or did you not realise the blue writing turns out red on the blog!
VERY NICE.
Great job, dude!
Proof that Hans Zimmer’s soundtracks can add awesomeness to anything.
absolutly amazing it captures very aspect of what rally is and who it is in a truly magnifisent way.
Wow! That was the best tribute i’ve ever seen on Youtube! I’ve seen some seriously shocking tributes on ‘tube but this is incredible! This guy is good, really good!
@Stig’s Irish Cousin: I couldn’t agree more. I’ve seen plenty of shocking tributes on ‘tube but this was something else. It’s so professional and sophisticated yet is quite dramatic. Basically it’s an exquisite video.
the guy at the end looks a bit dismal
@Stig Irish Cousin: Normally I would immeaditly agree with the engine noise with you… but for some bizar reason I prefer this video as it is…
The music fits so well with the mood of the video that I don’t want to hear the engines… it just feels wrong in a video like this…
Amazing job from that guy, you trully feel that he’s a real car enthousiast
awesome
Great!… Just a tiny complaint: in 5:23 not even a shot of my beloved Lancia Fulvia HF (Though there is one shot of Munari Mannucci at Montecarlo72)… Anyway thanks for all those Lancias (and Subarus,Renaults, Peugeots, Skodas etc…) and all that great rally action.
Wow, truly amazing. Not your usual Windows Movie Maker throw-together. This guy must have put a lot of effort into this. Well done to him!
But it made me think of what a great sport rallying really is, and how over recent years ‘recession’ has pretty much sent it down the pot. Rallying was pretty awesome not too long ago. Along with the BTCC, rallying has got to be the most amazing sport in the world. Forget football, it’s a bunch of pansies falling over, and go watch some Peugeot 205 turbo’s knocking it around the countryside
that was absolutlely brilliant, it looked like a proffesional had done it. it really captured all the reasons why rallying is so great. it needs to get back to the level of competitiveness it had 10 years ago, the cars are dull compared to older ones. and the rallies these days are too short, i remember when the rally GB was literally all around the country not just in one corner.
Gread stuff. Made me feel like a dramatic cat.
Sigh!!…I always wanted to be a rally driver and now more than ever after watching that vid!!!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Hans Zimmer and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
…and… upcoming rally (might be WRC 2010)..
Your so called ‘cheap car’ Satria Neo (JC), was entering rally.
They just enter few couples of rally currently.. and they are shining star. or maybe champion in the making with their Neo S2000 car.
Im scare you gonna eat your own words TG!
Not to seem too thick but could someone point me to exactly what song(songs?) this is of Zimmer’s.
Red writing…..
Superb match of video to music – not just synch but mood as well.
How many hours (DAYS?!) did this take?! Just fabulous.
this is truly fantastic!
i seldom have goosebumps but this did the trick.
It’s a huge efford to cut the clips to fit the beats of the music and he did this extremely well.
hats off to this guy
As has been said, this is well beyond 99% of the other compilations that are on You Tube – such a great mix of cars, drivers and events…
…long live rally!
Brilliant video, you can see the time and effort being put into it. BTW Q1. what do you think that guy was thinking at 1:33 when that cow came out of nowhere. O2. what is harder being and F1 driver or a rally driver (tough question when you think about it).
Stunning. Really, really well put together.
Next time someone asks me why I like rally, I think I’ll just show them this
That’s class.
Here’s an amature music video I made featuring the ken block Top Gear segment http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=cM3z6IEnmXQ
bloody brilliant. i think that touring cars and rallying are as pure today as they were when they first started. F1 is still brilliantly exciting (sometimes) but the cars rely on technology too much to win. In ralying and touring cars its focussed on the driver and making the car suit the driver. These 2 motorsports are the best motorsports to date.
I miss the old days of rallying like mcrae and burns battle in 2001 and tommi makkinen and saniz!
shame no other manufactuers take part cos it would make the sport better as there would b more cars and more drivers (hell there may even be a british driver in there!)
i knw u die hard rally fans will matthew wilson but has he won a rally yet?…no
PS video was amazing!!! stunning and a perfect tribute…espically one of the frivers smokin a fag before he went on to the stage! love it, love it!
LOOK AT THIS THING!!!

Real men doing real driving
in my opinion rallying is so much better than F1 although I enjoy all forms of motorsport
To Me Said “the guy at the end” is the great Henri Toivonen try googling his name to see how awsome he was
