It’s all go for the Nürburgring this week. Following yesterday’s cracking Formula One race, which saw Mark Webber claim his maiden victory, two new ‘Ringside stores have been announced. One is Nissan, the other, rather predictably, is Ferrari.
Residing in the Ring°Boulevard, that forms part of the newly constructed, 15,000 square meter Ring°Work complex, both stores are dedicated to bringing you an immersive brand experience.
Which basically means there’s a lot of stuff with logos on for you to go and buy.
Ferrari’s store is much the same as the recently opened London shop, and Nissan’s is similar. Only with different badges on the merch – its tuning arm Nismo is in there also.
It’s no surprise that Nissan has opened up at the ‘Ring, being that it’s a company obsessed with breaking track records at the legendary circuit.
Nissan has also sunk a rather cool, and rather large, scale model of the ‘Ring into the shop floor, which alone is worth going in to look at.
As is the GT-R SpecV that’s parked up inside.

What’s with the manufacturers lately with their ‘Gift shops’? They’re everywhere! And now they’ve stuck a couple right near the ‘ring. The only thing they’re doing though is selling crap with ‘prestigious’ badges on.
Anyway what a place to put them. When there’s a trackday on the shops should get a huge number of visitors willing to pay a lot for – lets say – a korean-built watch with ‘Nissan’ engraved into it. Still if your lucky you might find yourself a master-piece like a painting – remember Rinspeed’s artwork? Now that was artwork!
yes, go to the nurburg ring and straight into the nissan showroom to have a look at some nice nissan logos, some nissans and a model iof the ring the real scale version of which is right outside.. YES YES YES !..uhh I mean.. NO ! But Thanx all the same..
you shall not pass !!!
I saw a GT-R yesterday, in Croxley Green, a little village. It was black, with black wheels and the yellow brake calipers, it looked so unbelievably menacing, i want one…
It would be a great weekend spent well..
At least having a GT-R logo on a black fleece or umbrella or something isn’t as tacky as having every accessory of yours in bright red with a Ferrari logo. The model looks cool in that pic too.
Are you allowed to sit in those Nissans?
I am still after Ferrari condoms.
They are supposed to come as slicks and taste like shell v-power.
For proper Ferrari fans or fannys
..MY umbrella looks better than YOUR umbrealla !!!!!
I saw one GT-R on the road. Sooooooooooo jelous that I cut his tyres.
The only thing that I didn’t like was silver paintjob. Why buy car like this and make it look like toyota celica?
I do not say you should go for Lambo palet, but silver should be banned on cars like that. Makes it look boring and slow. If someone painted me silver I would go slow.
Do you read mister Aston Martin Richards?
van driver.. go drive the van
I saw a GTR going down a derbyshire country road…. the thing was screaming but was only doing like 30mph =s=s=s=s didnt find it attractive at all
I saw just saw a GTR in Chino California driving among the cows on the worst roads in California…and it was being driven by a little old lady…the car is so ugly in person that it needs only be offered in colors like Lime Green and Screaming Yellow, because if you get a grey one like I saw the other day it just does not look like a Supercar.
“13..maybe because it isn’t.. a supercar..
ie. not exquisite, competetively priced and indeed as some of you pointed out very very ordinary.. the same way muscle cars of the 60’s and 70’s, this too fails to qualify for the superlega.. not because it isn;t fast enough but because speed isn’t everything… The gtr than is a Japanese muscle car and in an era where muscle alone isn’t enough, they’ve stuffed it with gizmos to make it more appealing to the playstation generation. So for heaven’s sake know what to expect.. It is actally quite simple.. when you see one think Ferrari, Lamborghini, maserati, Zonda, Bugatti.. and than take another look and say Nissan.. should help set things into perspective if one’s lost it or simply doesn’t have one ..yet…

After I finished my tea.

I think GTR is poor men super car (aldough I still can’t afford one). Looks better than most things driving arround but it is japanise so it will never look as good as cars made (designed) in europe.
The one thing wrong on GTRs is a bum. They have almost as ugly ass as my sprinter.
The GT-R is about going as fast as possible but not as FUN as possible. creating a fast car that has little horsepower but with a great weight (GTR) will include TOO much technology. Honestly im not surprised the GTR doesn’t come with a reset btton incase you crash unlike the ZR1 which is as drift happy as a terrier on a polished oak floor. ZR1 all the way!
poor man’s supercar blah blah blah.. First of all, poo men and supercars…different type of animal.Secondly, most japanese cars and you better believe it are designed by europeans… and Ultimatley..are you STILL having tea ??!
..James.. the gtr does have a reset button..to keep itself alive after one’s cocked up all the settings..:D zr-1.. spring leaf suspension, pickup truck power and tacky plastic..yes quite an experience…
if you’re a poor man and are looking for that ferrari feeling..try an alfa 156 gta.. 10k will get you one..what a bargain
and 30k will get you a fezza 355… what more could you get from a nissan that cost 20k more ??? A black umbrella ??
