Drophead drifting

Posted by Dan Read at 10:47 am on Wednesday June 24, 2009

“What would one like to do today? A spot of drifting perhaps, sir? Excellent, I’ll prepare the Rolls.”

Looks like this guy’s got some cash. Or a small share in Bridgestone or something. Let’s hope so, because the rear tyres on this Drophead Coupe will be as bald as Matt Lucas when the donuts are over.

Makes you wonder what other supertankers you could get sideways. A Bentley Arnage, maybe? Clarkson did, with some very smokey consequences

It’s just Powersliding over the limit. You can see it doesn’t want to let the back end go.

Trying to make a Rolls drift is like trying to get a barge into tesco. The Rolls just doesn’t look right when going sideways, especially considering it weighs around 2.6 tons. It just looks like it wants to get back to the job of taking jeeves to ‘ye olde tea room’ for a cup of ‘ye olde tea’.

Well that’s just wrong (which seems to be the general consensus here). Drifting a Rolls Royce? That’s like drifting James May! Or James May drifting!

It wasn’t even very good drifting. In fact, it was barely drifting – mostly tyre smoke.

    @ 11 – I didn’t know he’d traded his Phantom saloon for a Drophead either. He’s a man of many surprises…

    Is he Lord Sugar yet?

It would be great if he crashed into the parked cars :(
Mind you he probably would have driven straight through them.
