You had an electric bike as a commuter tool. Of course, I’m not suggesting that those of us with 100-mile schleps down the M40 jump onto a battery-bike because you’d die, or have to re-charge via a Little Chef plug, but most commutes are under 15 miles.

The Enertia ‘Lectric Bike – not so bad hey?
If you’re just popping to work, then these things are looking like the speedy alternative to either cars or the train. A tad riskier yes, but you could just opt to be careful. And you don’t put miles on the car, so you can have more of a dedicated toy at weekends. The reason this has cropped up is that some of the new electric bikes don’t look half bad – nothing you’d be embarrassed about anyway…

This is the Zero X from Zero Motorcycles. Kind of a motocross vibe going on here – they reckon the Zero S electric sportsbike should be in development this year.

yeah…looks cool……..bet you they’ll do one in pink
its a good idea, but seeing how totally incapable most people are in relation to controlling a car, expect the death toll to go up a few magnitudes if everyone starts riding electric bikes. Some people just don’t have the spatial skills required, never have and never will.
I’ve already had one underpowered two-wheeler of doom. I gave up riding when someone nearly killed me. However, I’d never say never… and there is a certain appeal to these. The problem is other people!
i would actually say the death toll will actually decrease. Look at vietnam-they must have one of the worst set of road laws in the world but really dont have that many fatalities.
Hmmmm…………………that’s not me thinking its the sound of an electric sneaking up!
Electric BIKE! Damn giddy typing idiot fingers!
the zero x is cooooooool but i don’t like motorbikes i feel that it’s dangerous i like the design of most motorbikes like in this case the zero x
